Nighttime Atlantic Weather Update
It was so fun doing the middle-of-the-night Atlantic Ocean Weather Check last night I decided to put together another one tonight. Plus there was another Area of Interest on the NHC map, bringing the total areas that the NHC is watching to three.

(Live updating image.)
The NHC is now watching three areas of disturbed weather in the Atlantic basin that could potentially turn into something bigger: Invest 92L, Invest 93L and an area of disturbed weather in the southwestern Caribbean Sea just north of Central America and just northwest of South America.
One:
On Invest 92L, which is about 750 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and which the NHC gives a “high” chance of forming into a TD within the next couple of days:
ASSOCIATED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAS BEEN GRADUALLY INCREASING…AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS THE SYSTEM MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT IS SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THIS SYSTEM ON TUESDAY…IF NECESSARY.

Invest 92L bares watching very closely, I think, since it is heading right for the southeast coast and is going to be passing over very warm waters over the next couple of days. Mid-level wind shear is also pretty low ahead of the storm right now.
Read the rest of the entry for the rundown of the two other systems.
Two:
The second area of interest is tagged as Invest 93L and has a “medium” risk of forming into a TD over the next couple of days and is located in the Eastern Atlantic, here’s what the NHC has to say about this system, as of 2am:
A LARGE AND COMPLEX AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER IS LOCATED OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC EXTENDING FROM NEAR THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS WEST-SOUTHWESTWARD FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES. THIS SYSTEM CONTINUES TO SHOW SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION…AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM WITHIN THIS AREA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH.

Three:
The third area of interest is new (I’m pretty sure) since the 8pm Tropical Weather Outlook and only has a “low” probability of becoming a TD over the next couple of days. Here’s the latest on it:
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA HAVE WEAKENED DURING THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS. HOWEVER…THIS SYSTEM COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AMERICA LATER TODAY AND WEDNESDAY AS IT CONTINUES WESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH.
